Gledhill PulsaCoil ECO Stainless installed in Southampton’s historical treasure – South Western House

Southampton’s SoutSouth Western House, Southamptonh Western House, formerly known as the South Western Hotel, was recognised as the centre of high society in the 20s and 30s, entertaining famous guests from royalty and politicians to movie stars such as Deborah Kerr, with even passengers of the Titanic staying prior to its departure in 1912.

Converted to 77 apartments in 1998, this iconic building still to this day radiates style and luxury, and with residents deserving the same high quality from their hot water cylinders, Prestige Plumbers, a family run company based in Shedfield Hampshire, recommended Gledhill’s PulsaCoil ECO Stainless as the perfect solution.

Gledhill PulsaCoil installation

Terry Hack, of Prestige Plumbers, said: “We recommended the product based on it being ideal for an apartment block, with no provision for discharge pipework, and Gledhill’s reputation for quality products within the industry. I have installed Gledhill before and have always found them to be of a very high standard.”

Installed in September 2017, the PulsaCoil ECO Stainless replaced an existing PulsaCoil III, which had reached the end of its life. This enabled a simple and easy swap for the installer. Terry, a plumber within the industry since 1976, said: “We found the installation of the cylinder to be very easy and straightforward. With good access to the pipework and the light weight
of the cylinder, it was easy to manage within lifts and the narrow corridors of the property.

Refurbished South Western House, Southamptonin 1985, South Western House now stands as Southampton’s monument to history and a representation of change throughout the years. And, as Gledhill’s PulsaCoil ECO Stainless represents the evolvement of the PulsaCoil III, it is the perfect complement to this symbol of change.
