| The
1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments together with a two-storey vicarage are situated
in two new-build concrete frame multi-storey blocks in Gloucester Terrace located
to the rear of the historic St James Church. The domestic hot water and heating systems were installed by R.G. Evans of Burnham, Slough and employed push-fit plastic piping for the heating distribution embedded in the floor screed, and copper-piped distribution for hot and cold water services located in the ceiling voids that accommodate service-routing for the apartments. The SysteMate thermal store offers homeowners exceptional energy efficiency and the ability to cope with simultaneous demand, delivering mains pressure ‘power shower’ hot water at up to 35 litres per minute. The appliance eliminates the tanks and pipework associated with conventional tank-fed systems - making it ideal for apartments - and also offers advantages over unvented systems because it does not need a pressure and temperature relief valve and discharge, making it ideal for use in multi-storey apartments. |

| SysteMate reverses the conventional primary and secondary water functions; water is heated by the boiler through a high-performance coil in the thermal store, while secondary water flows directly from the cold mains into the plate heat exchanger. Here is it heated by the water in the thermal store before it is delivered directly to the outlets at ‘power shower’ pressures. For the developer SysteMate offers rapid and simple fitting, with all controls and pipe-work mounted on the front face for ease of installation and maintenance, and the option of flexible pipes and push-fit connections reducing second fit times to a few minutes. |
