GulfStream is the only domestic heating appliance to combine the energy efficiency and performance of a large unvented cylinder, with a condensing boiler in a single unit.

The thermal store principle reverses the conventional primary and secondary water functions. Primary water from the boiler goes into the thermal store, while secondary water flows directly from the cold mains into the plate heat exchanger, where it is heated by the store before being delivered to the taps for that "power shower" performance.

It is also unique in offering as standard the Gledhill SWITCH electric emergency back-up system that maintains heating and hot water in the event of the gas supply or boiler failure, by employing a high performance electric heating source – the equivalent of a 30,000 BTU boiler.
