		Accolade A-Class is the latest evolution of the proven twin copper tank cylinder created by Gledhill almost 20 years ago, and is designed to meet the needs of multi-bathroom homes. It delivers mains pressure hot water at up to twice the rate of other unvented cylinders, providing power shower performance without the need for separate pumps and pipework, and offering the ability fill a bath in less than three minutes at current UK mains water supply rates. The SWITCH back up system provides an alternative electric power source for heating and hot water in the home; in the event of a boiler failing to operate, the householder can simply turn to SWITCH and restore service in minutes, avoiding emergency call-outs, discomfort and inconvenience. Once the boiler operation is restored, SWITCH is simply switched off to restore normal operation of the unvented cylinder. Accolade incorporates two high efficiency heating coils, for class-leading swift hot water recovery. The cylinder can have up to one third of the water drawn off before the boiler needs to fire, providing substantial fuel savings. All this is achieved without the need for separate water storage tanks, valves or tundishes. The unique recirculation action provided by the appliance’s proven twin tank design increases the amount of useful stored water by 15% and also effectively eliminates the problem of a “stagnant pool” which can accumulate in conventional cylinders, leading to the possibility of harmful bacteria growth. For extra ‘cupboard appeal’, Accolade A-Class is now enclosed in the familiar Gledhill ‘mushroom’ rectangular casing to accommodate a much greater thickness of insulating foam encased in steel for advanced performance and safety.
								All components are pre-plumbed, wired, and factory tested to reduce fitting time on-site, with fittings and controls located at the front of the unit for ease of installation and maintenance. Accolade A-Class does not require the sacrificial anode which must be fitted on some unvented cylinders, which in turn reduces the annual service costs which may be necessary with other units. The indirect Accolade A-Class is available is suitable for open vented primary systems and can be coupled to a gas, oil or LPG boiler. It is offered with a range of storage capacities, from 125 litres for 2/3 bedroom houses with 1 bathroom and 1 shower ensuite, up to 240 litres for supply to a 3/5 bedroom house with 2 bathrooms, and up to 3 ensuite showers.
