High Efficiency heating and hot water for smaller properties
Gledhill HE Combi installed in a kitchen

When space is at a premium but you still need High Efficiency heating and hot water on demand, the new Gledhill HE Combi is the powerful solution that is as friendly to the environment as it is to the installer, the homeowner and the service engineer.

A great British product from a World Class company
The Gledhill HE Combi is a great British product – designed and manufactured in Blackpool specifically to meet the needs of the British homeowner. A combination condensing boiler that more than satisfies the needs of ADL1; offers SEDBUK ‘A’ rated efficiency, as published by the Energy Saving Trust and low NOx emissions. And it’s from Gledhill – the recognised leader in the field of mains pressure hot water and responsive heating delivery, who were the first company in the UK to banish header and storage tanks in the loft and who have been creating innovative water storage and delivery systems that incorporate the latest boiler technology for over 35 years.

Superb design for installer, homeowner and service engineer
The Gledhill Combi delivers everything you need in a compact, responsive heating and instantaneous hot water system. For the installer, it’s lightweight and simple; for the homeowner it’s easy to operate and economical to run and for the maintenance engineer faults are easy to diagnose, components fast and easy to access and replace.

Elegant design to suit any home
With its clean lines and elegant grey and white casing the Gledhill HE Combi will blend equally well into the most traditional or modern of kitchen designs and a broad range of flueing options makes it flexible in siting, so it will suit any home design (as an option, the front panel can be supplied in brushed stainless).
EVERYTHING YOU NEED IN A COMPACT, INSTANTANEOUS HOT WATER AND RESPONSIVE HEATING SYSTEM
Compact in design, powerful in operation
The Gledhill HE Combi is just 840mm high x 330mm deep x 380mm wide, so it’s as compact as it comes and will fit effortlessly into the tightest spaces. However, its advanced design means that it has outputs that belie its size. It is simple to specify, since one model modulates to provide generous hot water and the correct heating output for all properties.

Simple to install
The Gledhill HE Combi incorporates the state-of-the-art Grundfos monobloc plastic moulding which incorporates the pump, hot water plate heat exchanger, the flow sensor, the diverting valve pressure sensor and the pressure relief valve all in one moulding to simplify installation and improve ease of servicing. Electrical connections are also simplified and easy-to access behind a drop-down front panel.

Easy to service / maintain
The Grundfos monobloc plastic moulding makes use of push-fit connections but all with safety clip technology for full peace of mind. This eliminates soldered joints but, more importantly, means that stripping out the single-component ‘monobloc’ can be carried out within minutes.

Quiet, efficient operation
At the heart of the Combi is a heat exchanger manufactured from highly corrosion-resistant stainless steel. Its large surface area maximises heat conductivity and its stainless steel construction provides strength, durability and excellent resistance to central heating system additives and cleaners. Combine this with the very latest pre-mix burner technology; a burner with a wide modulation range and low combustion temperatures and you have a boiler that operates quietly and efficiently.
Water Treatment
The Domestic Heating Compliance Guide published in May 2006 requires a water treatment device to be fitted where the hardness is greater than 200ppm. This is a requirement for both combis and storage vessels to comply with Building Regulations L1A and L1B. The Gledhill in-line scale inhibitor CAN BE SPECIFIED AT TIME OF ORDER for a very modest cost. This is fitted within the case and therefore does not require the provision of a fused spur.

User friendly
The Gledhill HE Combi’s intelligent electronics monitor and control all its functions simultaneously, so all the homeowner has to do is set it and forget it. There are no complicated knobs and dials, just a simple ‘on-off’ switch and a 24 hour timer for day-night operation with LED displays indicating the boiler’s status. These same electronics provide straightforward fault diagnostics, so it’s also easier for the maintenance engineer.

Comprehensive spares & after sales support
The Gledhill HE Combi is backed by a 7 days a week technical help desk supported by a team of experienced field-based engineers. Spare parts are dispatched from our central store overnight, if ordered before 3:00 pm, are held by British Gas or are readily available via the National Parts Center network.

HIGH EFFICIENCY COMES AS STANDARD
Gledhill HE Combi internal workings
The Gledhill HE Combi design incorporates a variable thermostat that allows central heating temperatures to be adjusted between 50°C and 82°C and a premix burner controls the gas input, directly linking it to the fan speed. This means that the gas valve automatically maintains the correct proportional flow, ensuring high efficiency throughout its output range.

For continued efficient and safe operation it is recommended that the boiler is checked and serviced annually by a CORGI registered installer. The heat exchanger is covered by a 2-year warranty, which is dependent on this annual check being carried out.

EXCEPTIONAL SITING FLEXIBILITY – FLUEING HORIZONTALLY OR VERTICALLY THROUGH THE ROOF
The Gledhill HE Combi is a room sealed fanned flue condensing boiler with a broad range of flueing options, enabling it to be sited almost anywhere to suit the individual house or apartment design. It uses a concentric flue system which enables flue gasses and combustion air to be ducted through a single pipe run, providing a simple, neat solution.

The standard kit is a horizontal balanced flue kit for discharging through an outside wall from either the rear or side of the boiler, which comprises: 1 x 600mm wall terminal 60/100mm (complete with sealing plates) and 1 x 87/90° bend 60/100mm. Additional extension pipes are available for flueing up to 7 metres.

There are also ‘standard’ kits available for flueing vertically, through a single-storey roof, comprising:
For flueing vertically through the roofspace to a purpose designed ridge terminal, the components are as follows:

1 x 60/100mm shortable concentric flue pipe
1 x 60/100mm concentric flue pipe
1 x 60/100mm concentric air inlet
4 x 60mm single flue pipe
2 x 60mm single pipe flue bend (43/45)
1 x 60mm spigot x 80mm socket adaptor
5 x 60mm single bracket
1 x ridge terminal

Additional flue kits

Additional flue kits, which include all the necessary push-fit socketed components, are also available and there is also a range of optional components including additional 87/90° bends, 43/45° bends, sealing plates, balanced flue terminal guards and pipe supports, enabling designs to be tailored to individual needs.

All 60/100mm concentric pipes and components are available in white epoxy finish and come complete with an EPDM sealing clamp. All 60mm single pipes and components are available in a plain aluminium finish and come complete with twin seal socket.

1 x 60/100mm concentric flat roof flashing and 1 x 60/100mm concentric pipe bracket.

or to a pitched roof terminal:

2 x 60/100mm concentric flue pipes;
1 x 60/100mm concentric roof terminal;
2 x 60mm concentric pipe flue bend (43/45);
1 x 60/100mm universal pitched roof flashing and 3 x 60/100mm concentric pipe bracket.

NB: Flues must be installed and terminals positioned in accordance with the requirements of BS 5440: Part 1. As with all high efficiency condensing boilers, the flue gas temperature will be low and, therefore, will produce a plume of condensation in cool weather. This should be borne in mind when selecting the position for the terminal.
