For, by evolving our market-leading 2000 range into the A-Class range, we have developed appliances that complement the revised Building Regulations for boilers, which will apply from April 2005, and provide many additional benefits.

A-Class appliances also:

· Are lighter and smaller, with no loss of   performance
· Contain SWITCH emergency heating and hot   water as standard ( for non-electric   products)
· Are fitted with modulating pumps to reduce   running costs and noise dramatically

All controls and pipework are mounted on the front face of the unit for ease of installation and maintenance. The advanced design of our appliances enables rapid second fixing using copper or approved plastic piping and a variety of optional fixings, such as flexible pipes and push-fit connections.


The units are insulated with very high efficiency foam. This is totally encased in a steel jacket - it is not widely appreciated that uncased foam can lose up to 40% of its insulation value over the first few weeks. This ageing is dramatically reduced if the foam is steel cased and of course this also eliminates the serious consequences of toxic smoke in the building in the event of a fire.


Unlike an unvented cylinder, thermal storage models in the A-Class range do not require an annual check by a competent engineer. They are 'failsafe' systems and this reduces the responsibility placed on landlords and householders when compared with an unvented installation.


In all Gledhill products there is no release of ozone depleting substances or harmful emissions. Our copper vessels are totally recyclable.


The efficiency of the Gledhill A-Class thermal storage range is such that, once the heating requirements have been calculated in accordance with the CIBSE Guide or BS5449, the small allowance detailed in the design and installation manuals for each appliance is all that needs to be added to decide on the boiler size. No other traditional allowances are necessary, other than any extra allowance if faster recovery is required when the dwelling has a high hot water use.
