New Build Cylinders
We offer a wide range of cylinders that meet the legislative and performnace requirements of the new build market. All products offered for this market comply with 2010 Part L1A Building Regulations which became effective from October 2010.
Stainless steel unvented cylinder options
The Stainless Lite Direct and Stainless Lite Indirect provide the ideal solution for standard installations where the cylinder is heated by a combination of a gas boiler and electric immersion, or situations where only electricity is available.
With the ever growing requirement to use alternative energy heat sources, the unvented range of cylinders also includes the Stainless Lite Solar that has been specifically developed for use with solar applications, which incorporates a dedicated high performance solar coil, delivering the maximum amount of heat from the solar circuit to the stored water. Also within the alternative energy range, the Stainless Lite Heat Pump has been designed to utilise the lower temperature input from either a ground source or air source heat pump, with the option of connecting a solar system if required.
Where customers are restricted with the space available, but want the benefits of an unvented cylinder, the Stainless Lite Slimline provides you with the perfect solution. These are available in Direct and Indirect configurations, and both come with solar options.
Thermal stores for apartments
A popular choice of cylinder for apartments where electricity is the only fuel is the PulsaCoil BP. This is an open vented thermal store which utilises off peak electricity to heat the main store of water, which in turn provides high performance mains pressure hot water to the property. There is also a solar option to this product, the PulsaCoil BP Solar, which uses solar energy to top up the heat of the stored water during the day, hence reducing the amount of energy required to be supplied by the immersion heater which is active during the off peak periods.
Both of these products feature the significant advantage of overcoming the onerous requirement of Part G Building Regulations which prohibits the connection of a discharge pipe from an unvented cylinder into a soil stack, unless it can withstand the temperature of the water discharged. This is not possible with plastic soil stacks that are currently available and so can be very difficult to overcome.
Thermal stores for new build housing
The BoilerMate BP offers thermal store technology where the gas boiler heats the store and also incorporate a back-up immersion element in case of problems with the boiler. The energy in the store is used to produce high performance mains pressure hot water to the property, without the problems of dealing with an unvented cylinder discharge.
All the above thermal stores are insulated to meet Part L Building Regulations (L1A and L1B) for both new-build and replacement projects. They also do not require any special registration to fit them, unlike with an unvented cylinder.
